Position: Platform Engineer (CI, CD, CT, Ruby, AWS, Azure, Scripting, Monitoring) in VA or NYC

Location: Richmond, VA; or Mclean, VA; or New York City

Duration: Full-Time Permanent position (no contracts, no corp to corp, no remote)

Job Description:

 Responsibilities (Hands on):

·         Identifying and contributing to long-term solutions and preventative techniques

·         Collaborating with other tech leads and support teams to ensure integrated end-to-end availability, reliability, and performance

·         Develop procedures to automate various systems and tasks

·         Contribute in the DevOps team to build out our infrastructure and servers currently operating on AWS

·         Development and promotion of new DevOps tools to simplify build process and entire continuous delivery pipeline

·         Work closely with our Architects, Engineers, Product Owners and Application Leads to engineer and build automated solutions

Requirements:

 ·         Support and deliver within Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines

·         You are self-starter that is smart, curious and always motivated to stay on top of technical trends

·         You have experience with Linux/Unix and Windows deployments

·         You have designed, monitored and managed scalable and fault-tolerant deployments

·         You have experience with continuous integration, log collection and analysis, builds and performance monitoring/tuning of your infrastructure

·         You take initiative and enjoy working with engineers to make the software development process as painless as possible

·         You are comfortable writing scripts in ruby/bash/groovy/python (at least two of those).

·         Experience in Build and CI/CD/CT technologies like GitHub, Chef, Artifactory, Bamboo, Hudson/Jenkins, Atlas, Cucumber

·         Experienced in Cloud related technologies like AWS, Azure, GCE, or OpenStack

·         Familiar with Agile methodologies like Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban

 Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or military experience

·         At least 3 years of Support experience in two or more of the following:

a.       Web applications built on open source technologies

b.      Database RDS or Oracle or SQL Server or PostgreSQL or

c.       MongoDB

d.      Windows Servers with emphasis on CMD Line administration

e.      Unix or Linux or AIX server administration and shell scripting

 ·         Systematic problem solving approach, coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive

·         At least 1 year of experience with Enterprise Monitoring Tools such as Splunk, BlueStripe, Zabbix, HPOM, Diagnostics, Sitescope, BSM, AppResponse, CA-Unicenter

·         At least 2 years of experience with build and CI/CD/CT technologies

·         At least 2 years of experience in large-scale projects

·         At least 2 years of experience with cloud related technologies like AWS, Azure, GCE, or OpenStack

·         At least 2 years of experience with CM and Orchestration technologies like Docker, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, Chef, Terraform

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Certified in Java, AWS, Microsoft, Jenkins, Chef or related technologies

·         2+ years of experience with RESTful APIs

·         2+ years of experience in database technologies like, SQL, RDS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB

·         2+ years of experience with scripting languages like Ruby, Python, Perl
